Afa Shimi Pharmaceutical Company is a subsidiary of the largest private pharmaceutical holding in Iran – Nofico Holding – with nearly 70 years of experience. Afa Shimi was established in 1978 under the name Rezaei Brothers Company and began its commercial activities in the field of health-oriented products in 1978 by producing cosmetic and hygienic products, operating in this industry. In 1991, the name Rezaei Brothers was changed to Afa Shimi Pharmaceutical Company.

In 2001, in response to the growing societal need for high-quality pharmaceutical products, the company underwent comprehensive development, including the employment of experienced and specialized human resources, the use of modern machinery from the German company Bosch, and expansion of production area and infrastructure. Ultimately, with the establishment of a pharmaceutical plant in accordance with the latest global drug manufacturing standards, the company began offering oral antibiotics in the cephalosporin and penicillin categories starting in 2007.

The production of injectable vials at Afa Shimi Pharmaceutical Company was launched in 2013, with designs approved by international bodies and process validation in accordance with international standards – WHO and P.I.C/S – in two groups: cephalosporins and carbapenems, under sterile vials in the antibiotics category.

Additionally, after four years, with the establishment of non-antibiotic sterile vial production lines in 2017, Afa Shimi became even more prepared to meet the needs of the medical community and has always been at the service of treating patients.

Moreover, the company has recently obtained new licenses for the production of non-antibiotic oral products by studying the market and expanding its production lines.

The vision of this modern and advanced company is to produce high-quality medicines that can compete in global markets. In this regard, GMP certificates have been obtained from the ministries of health of countries such as Ukraine, several Central Asian countries (CIS), some African and Middle Eastern countries, and neighboring countries. Additionally, some Afa Shimi products have been registered in these countries.

The quality control laboratory of this factory has successfully obtained certification from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran as a reference (accredited) laboratory for various tests.
