Tehran Chemie Pharmaceutical Company

Tehran Chemie Pharmaceutical Company is one of the pioneers of the pharmaceutical industry in Iran, founded in June 1956 (Khordad 1335 in the Persian calendar) by Dr. Abdollah Rezaee and his brothers. The company initially began its activities by importing medicines, but from the outset, it pursued the goal of establishing a domestic pharmaceutical production unit.

Shortly after commencing operations, Tehran Chemie entered into pharmaceutical manufacturing through collaboration with two reputable German pharmaceutical companies — Boehringer Mannheim and Chemie Grünenthal. These partnerships, serving as scientific and technical allies, laid the groundwork for the company’s development. Over time, with the addition of advanced automatic and semi-automatic equipment, quality control laboratories, standard warehouses, and other specialized departments, the Tehran Chemie factory expanded to meet the nation’s healthcare needs.

In December 1965 (Azar 1344), the company significantly increased its capital to support its expansion and grew its workforce to over 110 employees — highly skilled professionals from both inside and outside the country, the majority of whom were Iranian.

Tehran Chemie’s growth over the years has continued in line with the advancement of Iran’s pharmaceutical industry. Today, with the use of the latest technologies and the support of more than 400 skilled and dedicated staff, the company continues to produce a diverse range of medicines.

It is a source of pride that, with more than six decades of activity, Tehran Chemie ranks among the leading generic drug manufacturers in the country and continues its path with innovation, commitment, and integrity.
